UNDER CONSTRUCTION: A COLOURFUL PIED-À-TERRE

Construction is well underway on a gorgeous pied-à-terre for our clients whose primary residence is in Brisbane. With children and grandchildren living in Sydney, they previously owned a large federation terrace in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs for many years which they visited frequently.

However, our lovely clients recently decided it was time to downsize (but definitely not downgrade) their 'home away from home', and will be moving into their new apartment with amazing Sydney Harbour views in just a few short months.

Remember this old thing?!

Remember this old thing?!

Remember the retro dishwasher we posted on Instagram? Now it's well and truly a thing of the past! The rest of the kitchen has been demolished, as well as a couple of the surrounding walls.

The kitchen wall has been removed to create a more contemporary open plan living.

The kitchen, living and dining rooms are being completely re-designed to achieve a more contemporary open plan living space.

Our design reveals more of those stunning Sydney Harbour views.

The incorporation of a kitchen counter ‘servery’ will create a dining hub appropriate for casual breakfasts with the grandchildren and elegant dinner parties with close friends.

The framing for the joinery has been installed and is the most exciting part of build so far as I can see our design vision coming to life. The joinery will conceal the TV, a wine fridge, air-conditioning unit, and provide a decorative display to showcase our clients beloved art collection.

The finished joinery design will visually create niches seamlessly cut out from the walls.

The framing is up! Looking from the living room looking back towards the entrance door.

Meanwhile we are excitedly working on the final furniture, fittings and fixtures selections, which we affectionately call the ‘fun stage’ as we start to fill the space with more and more of our clients colourful personality. We can’t wait to share images of the beautiful linens, handmade tiles and silk wallpapers we will be installing!
