Seven years ago I finished work on a house for a gorgeous young couple who were just starting out on their lives together. In seven years a lot changes - for me, I have a couple of wrinkles and I have gained a few kilos - for them, they have been busy creating a beautiful family. They are now a busy family of five, with three very active young boys and this week we started working on their new family home.
My challenge is to create them a beautiful new home that nurtures and inspires this family and creates the perfect environment for the next chapter of their lives. We've had great fun designing rooms and spaces for the 3 active young boys, introducing colour, pattern and texture to stimulate, nurture and inspire.
I've been enjoying reading up on colour psychology and the effects of colour on mood and temperament in children. I love the theories of Rudolph Steiner who believes that colour and shape form our creative brains.
Here's a great article . . . I hope it inspires you and helps you remember a time when you felt passionately about your favourite colour! To read the article click here
