A GLIMPSE OF MAISON&OBJET PARIS 2017: JANUARY EDITION

The January edition of MAISON&OBJET is always quieter than the highly anticipated Fall edition in September, however it has always been one of my favorite trade shows. Not only because it highlights the important current trends but it defines the direction and sets the tone of the design industry for the year ahead.

Now that I am Sydney-based, sadly I am too far from France to be able to visit the M&O easily these days, however I still have some very handy local design eyes back home to give me an intimate insight into this year’s show.

I have hand-picked my MAISON&OBJET January edition loves just for you!

Playful and minimalist shapes dictate that new modernism is a trend that will evolve in 2017. French brand Petite Friture is the perfect example of this geometric love.

THIS IS AKD WITH A BIT OF A CRUSH, NOW, ACTUALLY

With Valentine’s Day approaching, LOVE is in the air.

Whether you’re celebrating a long layered LOVE that’s stood the test of time or igniting a spark that’s shiny and new, it’s all about the LOVE.

And sometimes the best LOVES starts with a little crush . . .

‘MAISON&OBJET’ 2014 PARIS

In September the weather begins to cool down in France when Autumn is just around the corner, and Paris is getting back into the swing of business after the long Summer break.

It makes perfect timing for Maison&Objet, the major bi-annual French trade fair for interior designers, as the design industry turns over a new leaf or two of it's own . . .

More than 3,000 exhibitor stands of international brands and talent span over 130,000 square meters, showcasing their newest innovative products which they hope will become the latest global trend. We noticed a strong presence of wood, copper, colourful glass vessels, minimalist design and elegant shapes . . . just a few of our favourite things at AKD.

Here is our selection of 'coups de coeur . . .'
