THE REVEAL: A DIAMOND ON THE INSIDE

You may remember this stunning entertainer’s kitchen that featured in Belle magazine last year:

and the story behind the transformation of this inner city pad.

We are very excited to finally be able to welcome you inside for a tour of the finished apartment in all its textured, layered, moody and sexy glory.

Our brief was to turn a two bedroom Sydney apartment into a one bedroom luxurious pad, perfect for entertaining. It was an absolute pleasure to work with these clients who embraced the creative process with such enthusiasm.

We converted the second bedroom/study into a stunning and expansive custom dressing room complete with ample storage and plush finishes.

The original laundry became the study, making use of its proximity to the living space and access to the enviable city views!

The master bedroom was redesigned in dark, masculine tones with a focus on timber and leather textures to add warmth. A patterned bed head imitates the kitchen splashback subtly tying the apartment together.

By doubling the size of the ensuite we were able to include a generous full size bath as well as a luxurious double shower and vanity.

The black tapware in both bathrooms is modern and sleek.

The powder room and newly concealed laundry make a compact yet handsome duo with discreet shelving for storage and a subway tile spashback for added texture.

The spaces have been consciously decorated with our client’s considered collection of objets d’art and homewares, finishing the apartment with their style and personality.

And last but not least, the green wall on the outdoor terrace provides this inner city apartment with the covetable indoor-outdoor lifestyle, as our clients while away their evenings at their marble island-bench-come-dining-table sipping on dirty martinis and watching the sun set over Sydney’s signature skyline . . .

DIAMOND POLISH: BELLE SHINES A LIGHT ON AN AKD KITCHEN CREATION

It has been over seven months since we took you behind the scenes of a stunning transformation that was taking place in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs.

Remember this dark and dated kitchen that we were reconfiguring into a galley-style space with an island bench-come-dining table to be more entertainment friendly?

Today it cuts a dashing figure and we are thrilled to share a double-page spread of the completed kitchen featured in the current special ‘Kitchens & Bathrooms’ October issue of Belle magazine:

'It was important for this kitchen to have the ‘wow factor’. Our clients love to entertain and it is the centre of the home. The contrast of the deep-grey cabinetry against the Calacatta marble, the textured tiled splashback and the copper detailing create a luxurious yet relaxed feel.’

Our clients love their new home. Thank you to Lucy McCabe and Alyssa Lim from Belle and photographer Will Horner who have captured our work so beautifully.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION: MOORE, MORE, MORE

Why put yourself through a renovation? The dust, the tradesmen knocking on your door at 6am, the
noise . . . the list goes on.

But for our clients who have resided at Moore Park Gardens in Sydney's Eastern suburbs since its development over 15 years ago, the excitement of a renovation to achieve their ultimate dream home was something they had been talking about for several years. Upon meeting us our clients were well and truly ready to embark on this life-changing journey.

Our brief was to transform a dated two-bedroom apartment into a luxurious, one-bedroom inner-city pad made for entertaining and modern urban living.

From the beginning our clients wanted a moody and masculine colour palette and we were up for the challenge, as often a dark palette can have the potential to make a space look ‘flat’ and appear small. We created a concept that introduced warmth, light and texture in unexpected ways, whilst staying true to the brief.

The master bedroom is undergoing the most dramatic change to the floor plan, which will really enhance the way our clients will live in their new space. We are converting two downstairs bedrooms into one luxurious master suite including full size dressing room with custom joinery, and new ensuite including double marble vanity, wet room and a bath that will be big enough to lie down in!

It has been exciting working with these clients, as they have been very open to the creative process by allowing us to play with light, finishes and texture to achieve the 'wow factor’.

The renovation is rapidly taking shape and transforming a dusty, dirty construction site into a stylish, sexy apartment. Watch this space to see the final dramatic design come to life!
