Our Work Is Shaped By Collaboration

A home holds more than furniture and finishes. It holds the way we gather, the rituals of everyday life and the feeling of arriving somewhere that is entirely your own. That is what we design for: not simply how a home looks, but how it feels to live in.

Founded by Alexandra Kidd in 2002, AK.ID has always been guided by genuine curiosity and a deep respect for how people live. Alex continues to lead the creative direction of every project.

Alongside her, Studio Director Jessica Gombault leads the day-to-day life of the studio, guiding its creative and operational direction and every new client relationship with honesty, clarity and warmth.

Together, Alex and Jess lead a team of designers and interior architects who bring the same care and intention to every project. Each home has a dedicated lead designer as the day-to-day point of contact, supported by the experience and perspective of the wider studio.

  • Alexandra Kidd Founder & Design Principal

    Alexandra Kidd

    FOUNDER & DESIGN PRINCIPAL

“Home is more than a space, it’s a feeling.

One that speaks to your history, your passions and the stories still to come. Guiding our clients through the journey of creating a home that is uniquely theirs, and the relationships we build along the way, is an immense privilege.

Our role as designers is to listen deeply, interpret thoughtfully and create with intention. Only then can we create spaces that feel as effortless as they are personal.

After more than twenty years, I still find the beginning of a project incredibly exciting. There is always something new to discover, and that is what continues to inspire me.”

  • Jessica Gombault Studio Director

    Jessica Gombault

    STUDIO DIRECTOR

Jess joined AK.ID in 2013 and has played an integral role in shaping the studio ever since. Now Studio Director, she works alongside Alex to guide the creative and strategic direction of the practice, bringing more than fifteen years of experience in residential interiors and architecture.

Her role sits at the intersection of design, people and business. From guiding projects and building lasting client relationships to mentoring the team and thinking about what comes next for the studio, Jess brings warmth, clarity and a hands-on understanding of design to everything she does.

French-born and endlessly curious, Jess finds much of her inspiration in the natural world and in experiencing different places and cultures. She is passionate about creating a better, more sustainable future through the spaces we design, the people we nurture and the choices we make along the way.

  • Morgan Reid Senior Interior Designer

    Morgan Reid

    INTERIOR DESIGN ASSOCIATE

Morgan brings a quiet confidence to design, with an instinct for proportion, materiality and the way a home responds to its surroundings. As Interior Design Associate, she leads projects from their earliest ideas through to completion, while playing an important role in guiding and mentoring the wider design team.

Since joining AK.ID in 2022, Morgan has drawn on her experience in regional architectural practice and a Byron Bay design studio to shape a grounded, restrained sensibility. Driven and decisive, she thrives on collaboration with builders, makers and trades, bringing together architectural volumes, natural textures and beautifully resolved details.

Away from the studio, Morgan finds inspiration in design, travel and experiencing new places, but she is happiest escaping to the mountains, preferably in winter and with plenty of snow.

  • Fran Egan Interior Architect

    Fran Egan

    INTERIOR ARCHITECT

Fran has a particular talent for translating creative ideas into beautifully resolved, buildable details. As an Interior Architect, she works closely with the design team across documentation, problem solving and project delivery, bringing technical rigour and a characteristically calm presence to the process. She understands that the smallest technical decision can have a significant impact on how a space ultimately looks, feels and functions.

Fran joined AK.ID in 2020, following experience across both intimate design studios and architectural practices delivering large-scale projects.

Her favourite part of the job? ‘Sharing the joy of creativity with a team of smart and fabulous women.’

  • Siân Grant Interior Architect

    Siân Grant

    INTERIOR ARCHITECT

Siân joined AK.ID in 2024 with more than ten years of experience across architecture and interior design. A UK-registered architect, she has worked on bespoke residential projects in Oxford, London and Sydney, bringing an architectural rigour and considered eye to every stage of a project.

Siân believes a home should never feel sterile or overly resolved. Drawn to the idea of ‘something old, something new’, she loves layering furniture, artwork and antiquities to create interiors that feel collected over time and tell something of the people who live there.

Fittingly, her dream purchase is a late 17th-century verdure tapestry. When she is not contemplating antiques, you may find her salsa dancing on the weekend.

  • Luciana Miranda Interior Designer

    Luciana Miranda

    INTERIOR DESIGNER

Luciana joined AK.ID in 2024 following a career spanning residential and hotel design in her native Brazil, Asia and Australia. With an architectural background, she takes a thoughtful, tactile approach to her projects, balancing creative ideas with the detail and rigour needed to carry them through from concept to completion.

Luciana is happiest exploring materials, sketching ideas and working collaboratively with the team to find the right resolution.

Outside the studio, life is equally colourful. You might find her whistling to the lorikeets in her backyard or making her daily banana pancakes.

  • Emma McGlynn Interior Designer

    Emma McGlynn

    INTERIOR DESIGNER

Emma works across all stages of the design process, from early concepts and material sourcing through to documentation and time on site. Collaborative and energetic by nature, she brings a genuine enthusiasm for seeing ideas take shape.

Before moving into interior design, Emma worked in media and advertising for home and interiors publications, an experience that sharpened her eye for spaces and eventually inspired a change in direction.

Her interests extend to architecture and design from around the world, and to a growing wish list of pieces she hopes to own one day. At the top? A B&B Italia Le Bambole armchair.

  • Hannah Darkins

    MEDIA & MARKETING MANAGER

Hannah guides the studio’s voice across press, digital and client-facing platforms, bringing together her love of design and storytelling. She believes good design is not just seen, but felt, and her work is about finding the stories that bring that experience to life.

With a background in photography, videography and interiors styling, Hannah brings a strong visual sensibility to the studio, shaping not only what we say, but how we share it.

Outside the studio, she has an eye for the unexpected. She loves finding a diamond in the rough, thrift shopping and mixing clashing patterns, both at home and in what she wears.

  • Carine Baba-Aissa

    Carine Baba-Aissa

    FINANCE OPERATIONS MANAGER

Carine manages the financial operations of the studio, bringing a sharp eye for detail, calm efficiency and a genuine respect for getting the numbers right.

Her love of interiors extends well beyond the studio. Carine believes the kitchen is the heart of a home, where cooking, conversation and everyday life come together. Her dream? An oversized kitchen island with plenty of room to cook, gather and share with family and friends.
