The process is only as good as the listening that comes before it.

Every project begins with a conversation. Before we design anything, we listen - to how you live, what you love, and what you want your home to feel like. That understanding doesn't just inform the brief. It shapes everything.

Founded by Alexandra Kidd in 2002, our studio specialises in high-end residential interior design and interior architecture. We work across the full scope of a project - or within a defined part of it - with the same care and rigour at every scale.

Under the leadership of Studio Director Jessica Gombault, each project is approached with a clear structure, honest communication, and a team that remains closely connected from the first conversation to the last detail.

We design for how a home feels to live in - not simply how it looks. Every decision has a reason. Nothing is arbitrary, and nothing is hidden. Our relationship with clients, builders, trades, and suppliers is built on that same transparency, and it is why so many of those relationships have lasted decades.

What we create together is designed to endure. Not for this moment or this season - but for the way you will live in your home for years to come.

The Project Stages

  • Contact our Studio Director today to discuss your project and the design process in more detail.

This is an opportunity for us to discuss your brief, learn what you are hoping to achieve, and to understand your ideas and expectations around timing and budget.

If your brief and our services align, we will arrange an initial consultation (either on-site or in our Potts Point studio) to meet with our Founder & Design Principal, Alexandra Kidd.

  • Following our consultation and meeting, we will create a customised Project Proposal for your consideration.

This will be tailored to your specific needs incorporating your brief, the Scope of Works, the proposed stages required to deliver your project from concept through construction to completion, as well as budget, our design fees and the terms and conditions of the contract.

  • A customised combination of the following stages will make up the steps of your design journey:

    ○ Concept Design

    ○ Approvals (e.g. Development Application, Section 4.55, Complying Development Certificate, Owners Corporation)

    ○ Design Development

    ○ Documentation

    ○ Tender & Contract

    ○ Construction Certificate

    ○ Construction & Inspection

  • The Decoration Process refers to Furnishings & Installation, which is also affectionately called ‘the fun stage’!

Often in conjunction with stages of the Design Process, we will work with you, and within your budget, to select or custom design furniture, furnishings, accessories and artwork to complement the interior architecture and design. We will ensure that you love each piece and detail as much as you do the bigger-picture design.

We will carry out quality control of all orders and implement perfect placement and final styling of all items.
